Managed Hosting

Web Hosting

Plesk-managed hosting with bundled SSL, business email, daily backups, and local Klamath Falls support. The kind of hosting where you call us and a real person picks up — not a chatbot in another time zone.

1What our hosting is

Plesk-managed hosting on hardware we maintain, with a real human at the other end of the phone.

We run a Plesk Obsidian server in a hardened data-center environment and host your website, your business email, and your databases on it. Every domain we host gets the same baseline: free Let's Encrypt SSL, daily off-site backups, business email with spam filtering, anti-malware scanning, and direct access to a Plesk control panel if you want to manage anything yourself.

This isn't shared hosting from a faceless reseller. If something breaks at 2am, you have a phone number and an email — and those reach Klamath Falls, not a call center on the other side of the planet. If you want a website but don't want to think about hosting, this is the right service.

2What every site gets

Baseline included with every Lucky Duck-hosted website, regardless of tier:

🔒

SSL certificate (free)

Auto-renewed Let's Encrypt SSL with HTTPS-only redirect. Padlock in the browser bar from day one. Wildcard SSL available on Pro tier.

📧

Business email

Custom-domain mailboxes with spam filtering, webmail access, and IMAP/SMTP for Outlook, Apple Mail, or your phone. DKIM and SPF configured for deliverability.

💾

Daily off-site backup

Nightly snapshots to encrypted off-site storage. Restore-on-request within one business day. 30-day retention on Starter; longer on higher tiers.

🛡️

Security scanning

Anti-malware scans on uploaded files, brute-force-attack monitoring on login pages, automatic blocking of known-bad IPs, and OS-level patching kept current.

📊

Plesk control panel

Optional self-service access to file manager, database tools, DNS, mail accounts, and stats. Use it as little or as much as you want — we manage it either way.

📞

Local human support

Email + phone support during business hours. After-hours for urgent issues on higher tiers. Real people, in Klamath Falls, who know your site.

3Tiers

Three monthly tiers and a custom option. Tiers differ in number of sites, mailbox count, storage, and support response time.

What you're paying for at each tier: a defined hosting envelope (sites, mailboxes, storage) plus a defined support tier (response time, included maintenance work). Domain registration is separate (~$15/yr at Ionos, your registrar). You can bring an existing domain or register through us as part of onboarding.

5Lucky Duck vs other options

Where Lucky Duck hosting fits compared to the alternatives:

OptionBest forTrade-off
Lucky Duck HostingLocal Klamath Falls / Eagle Point business that wants a real person managing their hosting and a phone number that reaches Oregon.Best fit for the small/medium businesses we serve.
GoDaddy / Bluehost / Hostgator (mass-market shared hosting)Hobby sites, throwaway projects, anyone who wants the cheapest possible hosting and never expects to call support.Cheap. Support is offshore call centers + chat scripts. Site goes down at 2am, you fend for yourself.
Self-hosted on AWS / DigitalOcean / LinodeDevelopers comfortable running their own server. Maximum flexibility. You ARE the sysadmin. Patches, backups, security, SSL renewal, email deliverability — all yours.
Squarespace / Wix / Shopify (SaaS site builders)People who want a one-stop builder with theme + hosting + checkout in one product.Locked into the platform; harder to migrate later; limited customization for non-standard needs.
Big-agency managed hosting ($500-$2000/mo)Enterprise sites with dedicated DevOps + 24/7 NOC needs.Priced for enterprise. Overkill (and over-budget) for most small businesses.

6How onboarding works

From "yes, let's go" to your site live on our hosting:

  1. Discovery call (30-45 min)We talk through what you have today (current hosting, current domain, email setup, content management system) and what you need. Out of this you get a tier recommendation and a quote.
  2. Service agreement signedNet 10 monthly billing, anchored to delivery date + 30 days. First invoice covers month 1 of service. No long-term contract — cancel any time.
  3. Domain + DNS setupIf you're keeping your existing domain at your existing registrar (Ionos, GoDaddy, NameCheap, etc.), we coordinate the DNS pointer change. If you're moving the registration to us, we handle the transfer.
  4. Site migration (if applicable)We pull your current site off the old host, restore it on our Plesk server, fix anything that broke in transit, and verify everything works. Migration is included free for new clients during onboarding.
  5. SSL + email + backup activatedLet's Encrypt cert provisioned, mailboxes created, daily backup pipeline turned on, security scanning live.
  6. DNS cutover + go-liveFinal DNS pointer flip. Site goes live on our hosting. We monitor for any post-cutover issues (broken links, email-route cleanup, etc.).
  7. 30-day handoff phaseFor the first 30 days you have priority access to us for questions, tweaks, and "wait, how do I do X?" We make sure you're confident with the Plesk panel (or that you don't need to be).

7FAQ

Where is the server physically located?

Our Plesk server lives in a hardened US-based data center with 24/7 power and network redundancy. The off-site backup destination is a separate provider in a different geographic region, so a single facility outage doesn't take both production and backups down.

Can I keep my existing domain registration somewhere else?

Yes. We don't require you to move your domain to us. If your domain is at Ionos, GoDaddy, NameCheap, or any other registrar, we just coordinate the DNS pointer change. Many clients keep their registration where it is and move only the hosting. If you'd rather have everything under one roof, we can transfer the registration as part of onboarding.

What happens if my site outgrows my tier?

We'll tell you before you hit a wall. Tier upgrades are pro-rated and take effect on the next billing cycle — no migration, no downtime, just a setting change on our side. You don't pay for capacity you don't use, but you also don't get surprised by overage bills.

Do you handle WordPress / Drupal / other CMS updates?

Plesk handles minor security patches automatically (e.g., WordPress core security releases). Major version upgrades (WordPress 6 → 7, Drupal 10 → 11, etc.) are scoped as a separate engagement under our Web Development service because they often involve theme/plugin compatibility work that goes beyond hosting.

What's the migration like if I'm coming from GoDaddy / Bluehost / etc.?

Pretty smooth in most cases. We pull the site files + database, restore them on our Plesk environment, fix any path or permission issues, and verify before flipping DNS. The DNS cutover itself usually causes 0-15 minutes of split-traffic where some visitors hit the old host and some hit us — both serve the same content, so no visitor sees an error. Email migration follows the same pattern.

Can I use this hosting with my Zoho Mail instead of your built-in mail?

Yes. If you already have Zoho Mail (or Google Workspace, or Microsoft 365), we'll point your MX records there and skip provisioning Lucky Duck mailboxes. You don't pay for mailboxes you don't use. Many of our clients run their hosting with us and email through Zoho — that's a great combination, especially if you're going to bolt on Zoho Setup or MOaaS later.

Do you do e-commerce hosting?

For light to moderate e-commerce (under 10,000 monthly orders, standard payment processors, off-the-shelf platforms like WooCommerce or Drupal Commerce), Hosting Pro tier is the right fit. For high-volume e-commerce or platforms with unusual requirements (PCI-DSS-controlled scope, custom checkout flows, very high concurrent traffic), we'd quote a Custom Engagement.

What if I want to add an AI assistant or automation later?

That's exactly the path many of our clients take. Hosting first, then layer on DuckBot (an in-office appliance that integrates AI + automation with your business systems) or Clawdio-Pro on the Cloud (the same AI assistant, hosted by us). Both work great alongside Lucky Duck hosting.

How does billing work?

Monthly recurring on Net 10 terms, anchored to your service start date. Your first invoice covers month 1 and is sent shortly after onboarding completes. Subsequent invoices arrive on your monthly anchor date. We accept credit card, ACH, and Apple Pay through our Zoho Books + Stripe integration. No long-term contracts; cancel any month with 30 days' notice and we'll help you migrate cleanly to wherever you're going.

Do you guarantee uptime?

We target 99.9% monthly uptime (~43 minutes max downtime per month). We don't issue SLA credits at our scale — we're not big enough to make those credits meaningful — but we do something better: we communicate proactively when something is happening, and we have a real person you can reach. Most "uptime SLAs" from mass-market hosts are theatre anyway; what actually matters is "do they answer the phone when something is wrong." We do.
